The most obvious reason will be because cooking takes out the nutrients and vitamins found in raw food. You can’t argue with wanting to eat as healthy and nutritious as you can. The raw food diet does this.
Also, cooking changes the textures and chemistry of foods. This often makes them hard to digest. (Think of milk and how it is hard for your body to digest, because of this, your body only absorbs a very small percentage of the calcium. This is the reason most people drink milk!)
This is the reason why there are so many digestive problems in this country. When we eat raw foods, we are giving our bodies the high fiber, high water content of fresh produce which helps with our bowl movements and wards off constipation. Obstructions are cleared and blood flow increases to each and every cell in the body. Blood flow is important because it delivers nutrients and oxygen to living cells and it carries away their toxic metabolites.
It is not hard to see that obesity is at an all time high in this country. Sadly, even among our children. Because we are feeding our bodies the wrong foods, it triggers hunger when it may be full. This is because our body is craving certain nutrients. But instead of listening to our bodies, we grab whatever is convenient. When you start giving your body the nutrients it craves, overeating will stop.
Eating raw food boosts your metabolism causing you to burn more calories. Your body takes a little more time and energy to digest raw foods. This is good because you will feel full longer and have less of a desire to eat. When you feed your body processed foods, which is harder for your body to digest, your body spends unnecessary time trying to digest these foods. It is really hard on your liver which is like your bodies filter. But when you eliminate the toxins in processed foods, your body can use that energy to rebuild and feed cells, and send vitamins, fluid, enzymes and oxygen throughout your body making it the efficient machine it was created to be.
It is great because you will naturally stop overeating. Your body and brain will not be starving for the necessary nutrients they need.
