Less weight gain

People don't eat nuts because they think they will cause weight gain, but those who do eat them are less likely to gain weight. Those who eat nuts atleast twice a week were almost by a third less likely to put on pounds than those who do not eat peanuts. Researchers conclude that a diet that includes peanuts with a healthy exercise regime would to well for weight loss. Those who did not eat peanuts gained and average of five pounds over a twenty eight month period. So just enjoy peanuts, they taste great and won't inflate you like you think they would.

Good Fats

Not all fat is bad, fats such as monounsaturated and polyunsaturated are actually good for you. Like most plant based foods, peanuts contain no cholesterol. More than seventy five percent of fat stored in a peanut is non-saturated. One or two ounces of peanuts have been known to decrease coronary artery disease. Studies have shown that a high monounsaturated diet from peanut butter and peanuts reduced the risk of cardiovascular disease by one fifth. These kinds of fats also regulate insulin metabolism and sugar making it ideal for weight loss and weight stabilization. The French have been known to eat peanuts, and are also known for their lack of weight. Even though peanuts do have lots of fat, they are a better source of protein than high fat meat.

Protein

Peanuts contain more protein than any other nut or nut like object at eight grams per serving. It should be noted though that there are other meat products which give you much more protein per serving. This knowledge is valuable to vegetarians or vegans and those with little pocket change to spend. The high amount of protein in peanuts makes you satisfied after eating therefore encouraging you to eat less. Although they are incomplete proteins, if you eat a varied diet you should be fine eating peanuts. Try adding low fat milk with a peanut butter sandwich, the milk and the bread help to complete the amino acids. Beware; However, people may have severe allergic reactions to the proteins contained in peanuts.
